February theme is Partnerships:
"Teaming up" by Bill Stoddart of Vital Resources

"Matching up" by John Ogilvie of Chesters Estate
"Merging" by Thomas Wilson, Principal of Glasgow Metropolitan College

Vital Resources:
As one of Scotland's leading Training & Development companies, they have teamed up with teh global giants of Corporate Training programmes Eagle's Flight, who specialise in conference training events.

Eagle's Flight operates in 43 different countries in 17 different languages, represented by international licencees.  Vital Resources have taken the step to become their representative in Scotland providing conference events that are fast paced, engaging and packed with energy and excitement. The product offers clients real business outputs as well as the wow factor. Bill talks to Thrive about the pros and cons of partnerships and how their choice is shaping their future. (www.vitalresources.co.uk)

Chesters Estate:
John and his wife Ellie have combined their respective skills in advertising and acting to revitalise this beautiful estate which comes with all the usual challenges of overhead and upkeep costs. This has been an ongoing process documented by the Channel 4 programme Country House Rescue. They both view their ownership of Chesters as an enormous privilege and want to do all they can to make sure it not only remains viable but can also be shared with as many people as possible.

This has involved teaming up with various players in the sector creatively to minimise cost and risk and maximise benefits for everyone which John is pleased to share with Thrive. (www.chestersestate.co.uk)

Glasgow Metropolitan College:
Three of Glasgow’s specialist colleges: Central College Glasgow, Glasgow Metropolitan College and Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, are set to merge, creating one of the largest educational institutions in Scotland with over fifty thousand students. It is said to be one of the biggest, most exciting projects ever undertaken in the education sector in the UK.

Thomas Wilson OBE, appointed first Principal of Glasgow Metropolitan College in 2004, is delighted to share his thoughts on this historic merger with Thrive.  (www.newcampusglasgow.ac.uk)
